# Develop History (Old 2D version)

After the launch of Ordinals, the Bitmap protocol was introduced based on it. More than 850,000+ block bitmaps have already been minted. Whenever a new block is created, the corresponding bitmap is immediately minted by eager users.

Shortly after the launch of the Bitmap protocol, Bitmap.tech released the first test version of Bitmap Explorer on July 31, 2023.That is the 1st Multiplayer Bitmap App in realtime.The first test version of Bitmap Explorer featured "Visualize the online holders' territory" and "Holders List/Chatroom." It has been continuously updated since then.
